Counterpressure

Magnets can attract or repel each other, depending on how they are geared to one another. By longer distances those powers are even by strong magnets very small, but increase immediately by small distance, so the attempt to press them against each other is not possible.

Electronic Fleas

When you rub with wool on synthetic, it results an electric tension. When you load the transparent cover plate with the enclosed cloth electrostatically, the styrofoam corpuscles are gravitated upwards and jump like fleas.

Hand Battery

In this „battery“, the electrolyte is formed by the human body. You have to place your left hand on the left zinc plate and the right hand on another metal plate. It occurs a tension, which can be seen in the rash of the voltmeter. The height of the created tensions is related to the chosen metals.

Induction

When you turn the disk, the small magnets in the spool cause a magnetic field. Because it changes continuous, arises- the same with a bike dynamo- a flow. In this case a speaker membrane is gravitated, because of the magnetic flow and you can hear a tone, which depends on the rotation speed.

Jitter Party

A steady hand is needed here. The well-known game concept is adopted to illustrate the coordinated movement between hand and eye.
A metal loop is guided along a winding metal pipes. In case of contact, a signal lamp lights up.

Short Circuit

Both poles of the mono battery are connected in parallel and can be linked through a thin copper wire. The electricity between the poles is so high that the copper wire melts in the middle. The relevant size for heating the wire is the current not the voltage, which in this case  is 1.5 volt. The low resistance of the copper wire causes a high current despite the low voltage!

TV-Generator

You can produce electricity by your own power! With the bicycle drive, you can set the generator into rotation and generate electric energy, which powers a small camera and a TV. The TV has a rated output from 60 watts, the camera about 5 watts. The generator has to serve this output. Because there and in the transmission is a frictional loss, you have to achieve about 100 watts to get the device in commission. The continuous output capability of the human is usually indicated with 70 watts. For a horse, you calculate with 700 watts, so it is 1 hp (1hp =736 Watts).
